The most recognizable structure of Chichen Itza is the Temple of Kukulkan, also known as El Castillo. This glorious step pyramid demonstrates the accuracy and importance of Maya astronomy-and the heavy influence of the Toltecs, who invaded around 1000 and precipitated a merger of the two cultural traditions. The actual temple has 365 steps-one for each day of the year. Each of the temple's four sides has 91 steps, and the top platform makes the 365th.
Our hand blown Polish glass Christmas ornament is a small reminder of this amazing structure.

This beautiful blown glass ornament features Niagara Falls which is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the American state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
This ornament is also available with a plastic tour boat added to it but having seen the photos of the actual boat by the Falls we felt it was out of proportion and requested that it be left off the ornaments made for us. Here you will just see the majestic Falls in all their glory.

The Pantheon is a building in Rome, Italy, commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus (27 BC - 14 AD) and rebuilt by the emperor Hadrian about 126 AD. Almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon's dome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. It is truly a remarkable structure and having stood in its center during a light rain with the drops falling straight down through the 30 foot open skylight it is also very memorable for me. St. Basil's Cathedral is situated in Moscow's Red Square and was built in the mid-16th century at the behest of Ivan the Terrible to celebrate his defeat of the Tartars. The Cathedral was designed to replace eight modest wooden churches commemorating successful battles. This resulted in the Cathedral's famous onion domes - one for each chapel as well as a larger central church.

Archbishop Hughes of New York had a vision for building the most beautiful Gothic Cathedral in the New World. Designed by architect James Renwick its cornerstone was laid in 1858 and the doors swept open in 1879. Each generation has added to her splendor. Her spires were completed in 1888 and The Lady Chapel in 1908. The magnificent Kilgen Organs were installed from 1928 to 1930. Major capital improvements were made in the 1940's and the 1970's under Cardinals Spellman and Cooke, espectively. The Kilgen organs were restored in the mid 1990s, and the gem of the Cathedral, the Lady Chapel, was restored in 2003. The vision is complete and this beautiful glass ornament captures it on small scale for your home.

Commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the remains of his cherished wife, the Taj Mahal stands on the southern bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, India. The famed mausoleum complex, built over more than 20 years, is one of the most outstanding examples of Mughal architecture, which combined Indian, Persian and Islamic influences. At its center is the Taj Mahal itself, built of shimmering white marble that seems to change color depending on the sunlight or moonlight hitting its surface. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983, it remains one of the world's most celebrated structures and a stunning symbol of India's rich history.

Dedicated in 1877, Trinity presented a bold, fresh new face and feeling for ecclesiastical architecture in America. The Church continues to be heralded today as a celebrated example of 'Richardsonian Romanesque' design, named after its architect, H. H. Richardson who happily is my great grandfather so I enjoy my visits to it all the more.
The ornament is 4 inches high and comes beautifully gift boxed.
