Updated January 2007
Christmas has come and gone and the trend was upward so we we now look to 2007 and the beginning of the gift fairs. The dollar is loosing value against the pound and so price increases will be coming soon as we try to balance our new costs. Importing has become progressively more difficult as the costs of shipping with new security add ons drives up our operating expenses. We are also finding it harder and harder to get Made in England goods as more and more companies fail. There is also a decline in people caring about the source of their teaware or gifts. Made in China doesn't bother a lot of people anymore so who knows how much longer Karen and I will pursue an English specialty store. That big box mentality and price cutting may see the end of small independents like us.
We have moved with the times and launched our Christmas site which was well received. The blown glass was especially nice. I am adding new pieces as we have an expanding range of decorations from Advent Wreaths and Calendars to the whimsical German smokers.
Let me know what you think of it by visiting it at the following link.
Christmas Gift Gallery
We will update this page again after the Gift Fairs are over so there should be changes come May.
Best wishes-Mark
