This pretty Victorian cottage from Malvern was built in the fashionable cottage ornée style of the period. Our charming scene depicts a daughter visiting her mother with a Simnel cake and refers to bygone times when ladies in service were allowed to take time off work on Mothering Sunday for such visits.

This unusual stone building from Nobottle features a wonderful tiled roof - - or should we say roofs! - - because there are no less than three on this quaint little place! In fact we decided to make three something of a theme on our Number Three - - look closely and you will see three cats, three milk bottles and even three doors.

Over the years, many Lilliputs have taken inspiration from the bountiful supply of real-life chocolate box cottages from Broadway and this pretty cruck-framed one topped with thatch is a real architectural gem we just couldn't resist adding to our collection - - can you?

With its distinctive lipped thatched roof and pinnacles, our delightful cottage can be found situated between Dartmoor and Exmoor in the small rural village of Broadwoodkelly and was inspired by the village's former post office, which sadly closed for business in the 1990's.

Oxford's famous landmark which opened in 1749, was designed by the architect, James Gibbs, as a memorial to Dr John Radcliffe, a royal physician who bequeathed his great collection of scientific books along with £40,000 when he died in 1714. Camera is Latin for "chamber" or "room".

Typical Home Counties architecture is portrayed in the timber frame and brick construction of this seventeenth-century, Grade II Listed cottage from Weston Turville. Named because its roof resembles a conical sugarloaf - - the form in which sugar was imported at the time this delightful cottage was guild.
