Welcome to Eliza Hurdle Pottery
Eliza Hurdle trained in ceramics at Bristol Polytechnic, finishing her degree in 1991. Her work is inspired by nature and mythology, mermaids, the sea and it’s associations. The imagery is skillfully intertwined to form elegant functional pieces.
The original designs are carved in plaster or clay, the detailing of each piece makes this a long process. A plaster mould can then be made from the original. The pots are carefully cast and hand finished, then painted with oxides and underglaze colours and covered with a clear, bright earthenware glaze.
